Maternal health care slowly improving in India
Maternal death rates have decreased significantly since 2005, when India
introduced a new health care plan for pregnant women. It offers cash
incentives to get women to deliver in clinics but is far from perfect.

Bus fire kills over 40 people in China
A fire on an overcrowded bus carrying hazardous goods has killed over 40
people in central China, Chinese state television reported, in one of the
